Twitter experiment
Submitted by ebrouwer on Fri, 08/20/2010 - 13:43Lately I've been reading a lot of articles online about how to use Twitter to build your freelance business. I do a small amount of website work in Michigan, so I fancy myself a closet freelancer specializing in web design. I also think of myself as a web developer.
As I go along, I'll update this post with my progress. The goal is to pick up work through my Twitter account.
Here's the plan:
- Find people on Twitter I think can help me or lead to leads.
- Interact with other Twitteres, Tweeters, or whatever you call Twitter users.
One Ring to rule them all
Submitted by ebrouwer on Sun, 02/07/2010 - 10:43Well, not quite. Though I am a lifelong fan of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, that's not what I'm talking about here. What I am questing for, is one way to update all my social media outlets. Currently, I:
I tweet, therefore I am
Submitted by ebrouwer on Sat, 02/06/2010 - 17:02Yes, it's true. I now tweet. I see more and more businesses using it, so I thought maybe I should learn about it. Best way to learn? Like Nike says, Just Do It! I do some freelance design work, and clients are frequently looking for Twitter. I figure it's one more thing in my interwebs toolkit I can offer, right? If you're interested in following my tweets, check me out on Twitter.
Twitter module for Drupal - fail!
Submitted by ebrouwer on Thu, 02/04/2010 - 14:02Yeah, so I'm just going to give up on the whole Twitter module for Drupal. It sounded cool. When I posted here, it would send a tweet for me including a tiny URL linking back. It would also post my tweets as content in a Twitter block here. Never got it to work. Seemed straight forward enough, but nada.
I'm 0-for-2 with my latest Drupal modules...
Submitted by ebrouwer on Tue, 02/02/2010 - 11:43I installed Facebook Status and Twitter in an effort to bulk up the content on this site. Initial testing indicates fail. I've configured them both, and placed the block regions, but nothing appears. To be fair, I fear Facebook has gone and made more "improvements", rendering this module useless. Unfortunately, I can't dig into either of them right now. Someone actullay managed to get a virus at work which I need to clean up.
